Evaluating results for a specific time range

After you run a schedule, you can adjust the time ranges to include in a report. The aggregated results are recomputed to include only the data that was collected during the time range that you specify.

About this task

To recalculate results for particular start and stop times, you can specify a time range for a report. For example, you might enter custom start and stop times for these reasons:
  • Filter data from the ramp-up or ramp-down phases of test runs to focus on the time periods when the maximum number of virtual users are active.
  • Adjust a stage's time range to account for incorrect settle time.
  • Focus on time periods when response time exceeds a certain level, regardless of the number of users.

  1. In the Test Navigator view, expand the project until you locate the run that you want to evaluate. Each run begins with the name of the schedule or test, and ends with the date of the run in brackets.
  2. Double-click the run to display the default report.
  3. Click Data Browser to view the Data Browser.
  4. In the Data Browser view, complete one of the following steps:
    1. To create a new time range, click the Create or Edit Time Range Create or Edit Time Range icon and specify a name.
    2. To edit an existing time range, select the time range and click the Create or Edit Time Range Create or Edit Time Range icon. You cannot edit the default time range.
  5. In the Time range start field, specify the start time in seconds. A valid start time is any value between 0.0 and end time.
  6. In the Time range end field, specify the end time in seconds. To make the end of the time range the end of the run, type -1.
  7. Click OK.
